A Creamy One-Pot Dinner Made from Pantry Staples
This one-pot creamy pisupo pasta is the kind of dinner that saves time, dishes, and money—all while delivering rich, comforting flavour. Everything cooks in one pan, making it perfect for busy nights when you want something filling without the extra clean-up.
Inspired by simple cupboard cooking, this dish shows how a single can of pisupo can be transformed into a warm, satisfying meal that brings everyone back to the table.
Ingredients for One-Pot Creamy Pisupo Pasta
1 can pisupo (corned beef)
250 g pasta of choice (penne or spirals work well)
1 small onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2½ cups chicken stock
1 cup cream
1 cup grated cheese
1 tablespoon oil or butter
Optional:
Black pepper, to taste
Extra cheese for serving
Step-by-Step Instructions
Sauté the base by heating oil or butter in a large deep pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft, then stir in garlic until fragrant.
Add the pisupo by crumbling it into the pan. Cook for a few minutes, allowing it to lightly brown.
Build the sauce by stirring in tomato paste, chicken stock, and cream. Mix well.
Add the pasta by stirring it directly into the sauce, making sure it’s mostly submerged.
Simmer gently uncovered for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
Finish with cheese by stirring in grated cheese until melted and creamy. Remove from heat.
Serve hot, straight from the pan.
Helpful Tips
Stir occasionally to prevent pasta from sticking to the pan.
Add a splash of water or stock if the sauce thickens too quickly.
Short pasta shapes cook best in one-pot dishes.
This dish thickens as it rests—serve immediately for maximum creaminess.
