Ingredients for Easy Sausage Pasta Bake
500g sausages (beef or pork)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tomato paste
400g tin crushed tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
Salt and pepper, to taste
400g pasta (penne or spirals)
1 cup grated cheese
Optional:
Extra vegetables (capsicum, zucchini, spinach)
A sprinkle of parmesan on top
Step-by-Step Instructions
Cook the pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil and cook pasta according to packet instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the sausages – Remove sausage meat from casings. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and cook sausage meat, breaking it up, until browned.
Build the sauce – Add onion and cook until softened. Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Add crushed tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Combine – Stir cooked pasta through the sauce and transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with grated cheese.
Bake – Bake at 200°C (fan-forced) for 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
Serve – Rest briefly before serving.
