Ingredients
You will need:
500 g ground beef or mince
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 large egg
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the glaze:
¼ cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a loaf pan or baking tray.Prepare the meat mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.Shape the meatloaf
Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and shape into a loaf.Make the glaze
Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard in a small bowl. Spread evenly over the meatloaf.Bake
Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes, or until cooked through and the glaze is sticky.Rest & serve
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
