Easy Chicken Wraps for Lunch or Dinner

These easy chicken wraps are packed with juicy seasoned chicken, crisp lettuce, tomato, cheese and a simple creamy sauce, all wrapped inside soft tortillas. They're ready in around 25 minutes and can easily be adjusted depending on what you already have in the fridge.

They're also perfect for those nights when everyone wants something slightly different. Put the chicken, salad, cheese and sauces in the middle of the table and let everyone build their own. Less fuss, fewer complaints and everyone still sits down to the same meal.

Ingredients for Easy Chicken Wraps

  • 500 g boneless chicken breast or thigh

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 large flour tortillas

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

  • 1 large tomato, diced or sliced

  • 1 cup grated cheese

  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Optional:

  • Avocado

  • Cucumber

  • Grated carrot

  • Sweet chilli sauce

  • BBQ sauce

  • Greek yoghurt instead of mayonnaise

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken. Slice the chicken into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.

  2. Season the chicken. Add the chicken to a bowl with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

  3. Cook the chicken. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning regularly, until golden and completely cooked through.

  4. Make the sauce. Mix the mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

  5. Warm the tortillas. Heat the tortillas briefly in a dry frying pan or microwave until soft and flexible.

  6. Build the wraps. Spread some creamy sauce down the centre of each tortilla. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and warm chicken.

  7. Fold the wraps. Fold the bottom of each tortilla over the filling, tuck in the sides and roll firmly.

  8. Serve. Slice in half and serve immediately, or lightly toast the finished wraps in a dry pan for a warm, crisp exterior.

Helpful Tips

  • Cut the chicken into similar-sized pieces so everything cooks evenly.

  • Don't overfill the tortillas or they'll become difficult to wrap without tearing.

  • Warm the tortillas before rolling to make them softer and less likely to split.

  • Leftover roast or cooked chicken can also be used for an even quicker meal.
