Easy Air Fryer Salmon in 10 Minutes
This easy air fryer salmon is one of those recipes worth knowing when you need dinner on the table quickly. The salmon cooks in around 10 minutes with a lightly seasoned outside and tender, flaky centre, while the air fryer does almost all of the work.
Serve it with rice, roast potatoes, salad or whatever vegetables you already have waiting in the fridge. It's simple enough for a busy weeknight but still feels like you've made a proper dinner — which is exactly the sort of kitchen trick I'm happy to take credit for.
Ingredients for Easy Air Fryer Salmon
4 salmon fillets, approximately 150–180 g each
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 lemon
Optional:
Fresh parsley
Lemon wedges, for serving
½ teaspoon dried dill
Garlic butter, for serving
Step-by-Step Instructions
Preheat the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C for approximately 3 minutes if your model recommends preheating.
Prepare the salmon. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towel.
Season the fillets. Brush the salmon lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
Add lemon. Squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over each fillet.
Arrange in the basket. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket skin-side down, leaving space between each piece for the hot air to circulate.
Air fry the salmon. Cook at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets and your preferred doneness.
Check for doneness. The salmon should flake easily with a fork and appear opaque through the thickest section. For food safety, cooked fish should reach 63°C internally.
Rest briefly. Allow the salmon to rest for 2 minutes after removing it from the air fryer.
Serve. Finish with fresh lemon juice and parsley or dill if desired.
Helpful Tips
Choose salmon fillets of a similar thickness so they finish cooking at roughly the same time.
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket — hot air needs room to circulate.
Start checking thinner salmon fillets at around 7–8 minutes to avoid overcooking.
There's no need to flip the salmon during cooking.
