A special Gen FX reflection on today’s EFKS message.
Weekly EFKS Theme:
Finding Jesus: Finding the Young Jesus
📖 Bible Reading:
Luke 2:13–20
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)
Dear Gen FX,
Today’s theme invites us to think about how Jesus was first made known to the world — not as a powerful ruler, but as a child. The good news began quietly, in humility, and was shared by ordinary people who recognised who He truly was.
The Reading, Explained
In Luke 2:13–20, angels announce the birth of Jesus while He is still a baby, lying in a manger. Shepherds are told where to find Him, and when they do, they see a child — small, vulnerable, and dependent.
After seeing the young Jesus for themselves, the shepherds share the news with others. Their response is simple: they speak about what they have seen and praise God for what He has done.
What This Theme Is Pointing To
Finding the young Jesus reminds us that God chose to enter the world in humility. Jesus did not arrive with power or status, but with closeness and presence.
Sharing the good news begins when we recognise Jesus for who He is — not only as Saviour, but as God choosing to be near to us, even from the very beginning of His life.
Where This Meets Real Life
Often, we expect God to appear in strong or impressive ways. But the shepherds found Jesus as a child, in an ordinary place.
In the same way, we often encounter God in quiet moments — through simple acts of kindness, small steps of faith, or moments where we stop and pay attention.
One Thing To Hold On To
Jesus was revealed to the world in humility, and He is often found when we are willing to slow down and truly see.
Closing Prayer
God, thank You for sending Jesus into the world with humility and love.
Help us to recognise Him in simple moments
and give us hearts willing to share the good news with care and faith.
Amen.
