“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
(Luke 19:10)
This week’s EFKS theme:
Finding Jesus: Encounter
A Thought for Today
Zacchaeus was determined to see Jesus. He ran ahead, climbed a tree, and refused to let his position or reputation hold him back.
His desire to encounter Jesus was stronger than his pride.
What This Means for Us Today
Zacchaeus’ zeal reminds us that encountering Jesus often begins with intention. He made an effort to see Jesus, and Jesus responded by calling him by name.
True encounter leads to change. Zacchaeus’ heart was transformed, and his actions followed. Grace met him where he was, but it did not leave him the same.
Carry This With You
Seek Jesus with sincerity today.
When we truly encounter Him, our lives are reshaped.
A Simple Prayer
God, give us hearts that earnestly seek You.
Help us to respond with joy and obedience
when You call us by name.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Take a moment today to ask yourself where Jesus may be inviting you closer, and choose one small step of obedience in response.
