Names: People and Places

A Thought for Today

Names carry meaning, but some names carry weight beyond description. Today’s reading reminds us that the highest name is not claimed through power, but given through humility.

What This Means for Us Today

In this passage, Paul speaks of Jesus choosing humility, obedience, and service. He does not grasp status or authority, but lowers Himself for the sake of others. Because of this, God exalts Him and gives Him the name above every name.

This reminds us that true greatness in God’s kingdom is not built on recognition or position. Honour comes through faithfulness, obedience, and love.

Carry This With You

Hold the name of Jesus with reverence today.
His name stands above all others.

A Simple Prayer

Jesus, You are exalted above all.
Teach me humility and obedience.
Help me honour Your name in my life.
Amen.

Today’s Invitation

Take a moment today to quietly acknowledge the name of Jesus.
Let it shape how you live, speak, and serve.
