This week’s EFKS theme:
Finding Jesus: Encounter

A Thought for Today

After a day of healing and ministry, the disciples searched for Jesus, expecting Him to continue where the crowds had gathered. Instead, they found Him praying in a quiet place.

Jesus chose stillness before action.

What This Means for Us Today

The disciples faced a dilemma between demand and direction. The needs were real, the crowds were waiting, yet Jesus listened first to the Father before moving on.

This encounter reminds us that faith is not shaped only by urgency, but by obedience. God’s will is not always found where attention is greatest, but where prayer leads.

Carry This With You

Make space to listen before you act today.
God’s direction often comes in quiet moments.

A Simple Prayer

God, help us to seek You before we respond to demands.
Teach us to listen for Your voice
and follow where You lead.
Amen.

Today’s Invitation

Pause at some point today to sit quietly with God, asking Him to guide your decisions before you move forward.
