This week’s EFKS theme:
Readings in Ruth
A Thought for Today
Some moments feel ordinary at first, yet they quietly change everything. In today’s reading, a simple act of gathering food becomes the beginning of something new.
What This Means for Us Today
Ruth arrives in Bethlehem with very little. As she goes out to gather grain, she steps into a field that belongs to Boaz. Scripture describes this as something that “happened,” yet God’s guidance is clearly at work.
This passage reminds us that God often moves through everyday faithfulness. Ruth’s humility, willingness to work, and trust open the door for provision and kindness she did not expect.
Carry This With You
Be faithful in small steps today.
God is often at work in quiet, ordinary moments.
A Simple Prayer
God, help me trust You
in the ordinary parts of my day.
Guide my steps even when I cannot see ahead.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Pay attention today to small moments of grace or provision.
Thank God for the ways He meets you quietly.
