Today’s Reading: Matthew 2:13–15
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)

“And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.”
(Matthew 2:15, KJV)

This week’s EFKS theme:
Emmanuel — God With Us

A Thought for Today

Today’s reading reminds us that even Jesus knew what it was like to flee, to leave home, and to live in an unfamiliar place.

Safety required movement. Faith required trust.

What This Means for Us Today

Joseph obeyed God’s warning and took his family to Egypt. It was not comfortable or planned, but it was necessary.

This passage reminds us that following God does not always lead us into ease. Sometimes it leads us into unfamiliar places where we must depend fully on Him.

Yet even there, Emmanuel remains true. God was with them — and He is with us.

Carry This With You

If you find yourself in a season that feels unfamiliar or unsettled, remember this:
God’s presence does not depend on location or comfort.

You are not alone where you are.

A Simple Prayer

God, thank You for being with us in unfamiliar places.
Give us courage to trust You when the path feels uncertain.
Amen.

Today’s Invitation

Take a moment today to reflect on this truth:
Wherever you are, God is already there with you.
