Today’s Reading: Mark 11:12–19
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)

“My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
(Mark 11:17)

This week’s EFKS theme:
Names: People and Places

A Thought for Today

Names shape identity. What something is called often reveals what it is meant to be. In today’s reading, Jesus speaks clearly about what God’s house is meant to represent.

What This Means for Us Today

In this moment, Jesus enters the temple and sees that it no longer reflects its purpose. What was meant to be a place of prayer has become distracted and misused. By naming the house again, Jesus restores its true identity.

This passage reminds us that God cares deeply about purpose. When something is named by God, it carries intention and meaning. The house of God is not defined by activity, but by prayer, openness, and devotion.

Carry This With You

Reflect today on what shapes the spaces you are part of.
Let prayer and sincerity define them.

A Simple Prayer

God, remind us of the purpose
You have placed on our lives and our spaces.
Teach us to honour what is meant for You.
Amen.

Today’s Invitation

Take a quiet moment today to pray for the places you belong to.
Ask God to shape them according to His purpose.
