Today’s Reading: Hosea 1:1–11
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)
“Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea,
which cannot be measured nor numbered.”
(Hosea 1:10, KJV)
This week’s EFKS theme:
Names: People and Places
A Thought for Today
The names given in Hosea carry deep pain and heartbreak. They speak of broken relationships, loss, and the consequences of unfaithfulness.
Yet even in sorrow, God is still speaking.
What This Means for Us Today
God allows painful names to tell the truth about what has been broken, but He does not leave the story there. Within this passage of judgment, God also promises restoration, hope, and renewal.
Names of pain are not the final word. God’s faithfulness reaches beyond heartbreak, calling His people back with mercy and love.
Carry This With You
Trust God with the parts of your story marked by pain.
He is able to bring hope where there has been heartbreak.
A Simple Prayer
God, You see the pain we carry.
Hold us in Your mercy
and lead us toward healing and hope.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Bring one place of pain or heartbreak before God today, trusting Him to meet you with compassion and the promise of restoration.
