This week’s EFKS theme:
Finding Jesus: Encounter
A Thought for Today
Large crowds surrounded Jesus, yet He spoke about a different kind of belonging. Not one based on proximity or popularity, but on obedience and shared purpose.
Jesus pointed to a deeper community.
What This Means for Us Today
This encounter reminds us that being close to Jesus is not the same as following Him. Many were near, watching and listening, but Jesus named His true family as those who did God’s will.
Faith is lived within a Christ-shaped community — one marked by listening, obedience, and commitment, not just attendance.
Carry This With You
Seek faithful community today.
True belonging grows where obedience and love are practiced.
A Simple Prayer
God, thank You for calling us into Your family.
Help us to listen, obey,
and walk together in faith.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Reflect today on how you live out your faith within community, and ask God to help you grow deeper in obedience and love.
