Today’s Reading: Genesis 28:10–22
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)
“Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not.”
(Genesis 28:16, KJV)
This week’s EFKS theme:
Names: People and Places
A Thought for Today
Jacob stopped for the night in an ordinary place, unaware that it would become holy ground. In his dream, God revealed His presence and promise.
What seemed ordinary became a place of remembrance.
What This Means for Us Today
Choosing to remember begins with recognising where God has met us. Jacob named the place Bethel, marking it as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and presence.
God often meets us in unexpected places. When we pause to remember, those moments shape our faith and help us trust God’s guidance ahead.
Carry This With You
Be attentive to where God meets you today.
Moments of encounter can become lasting reminders of His faithfulness.
A Simple Prayer
God, thank You for meeting us where we are.
Help us to remember Your presence
and to trust Your promises in every place.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Take a moment today to remember a place or moment where you sensed God’s presence, and thank Him for meeting you there.
