Today’s Reading: 2 Chronicles 7:1–16
(EFKS Tusi Faitau Aso)
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray…
then will I hear from heaven.”
(2 Chronicles 7:14, KJV)
This week’s EFKS theme:
Names: People and Places
A Thought for Today
The dedication of the temple is a moment of great joy. God’s presence fills the house, fire falls from heaven, and the people worship.
Yet in the same moment of blessing, God also speaks a warning.
What This Means for Us Today
God reminds His people that blessing and responsibility walk together. The temple is a place where His name dwells, but faithfulness must continue beyond the celebration.
God’s promise is clear: when His people turn back to Him with humility and prayer, He listens, forgives, and restores. A high point in faith must be followed by faithful living.
Carry This With You
Remain humble and attentive to God today.
Blessing is sustained through obedience and prayer.
A Simple Prayer
God, thank You for Your presence among Your people.
Keep our hearts humble
and lead us in faithfulness and obedience.
Amen.
Today’s Invitation
Pause today to reflect on how you respond after moments of blessing, and ask God to help you remain faithful, prayerful, and attentive to His ways.
