The Inspiration
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
There is something deeply humbling about these words from the Apostle Paul.
We live in a world where so much is earned. We work for recognition, strive for success and often measure our worth by what we have achieved. Yet Scripture reminds us that salvation does not operate this way.
We cannot earn our way into God's favour through good deeds, religious effort or personal achievement. Salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ and received by grace through faith.
By Grace Through Faith.
Not because we have done enough, but because Christ has done what we could never do for ourselves.
This does not mean that good works have no place in the Christian life. As Paul continues in Ephesians 2:10, we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. They are the fruit of God's saving grace, not the price we pay to receive it.
GEN. 007 carries this reminder in four simple words — that our hope rests not in what we have accomplished, but in the grace of God through Jesus Christ.
And perhaps that is the most fitting way to complete the first Alofa Tunoa collection.
